Theo, a French multi-instrumentalist and composer from Lyon, creates his project Captain Pastek in 2017 to explore the world of sound synthesis. A world where notes and harmony cohabit with complex textures and deep basses. A world where acousmatic possibilities are infinite.

Advocating a luminous, melodic and instrumental psytrance, he draws his tracks inspiration from jazz, techno and psychedelic musics. His goal is simple : make people dance, smile and dream thanks to fresh, savant and subtle tracks.

An engineer during the day and musician at night, this double character currently performs on stage as a DJ until his own live-set comes to life. Thanks to his diverse activities, instrumental background and vast taste in music, he delivers original mixes to the audience, dressed in groovy and melodic shades. Captain Pastek as a DJ plays two main genres: psygressive/darkprog and hitech. His artistic influences are, for psygressive, movements like Grouch, Tystix, MNGRM, Ivort, Sourone, Kliment, Sensient, Hedflux or Gumnut and, for hitech, artists such as Kindzadza, Gotalien, Kashyyyk, Kokobloko, Mimic Vat, JunxPunx and Xenrox.
Two styles who distinguish themselves by their tempo that also merge together into a common desire to broadcast a new and refined psytrance of quality.
